WHY BUY A CONTAINER WITH NO ROOF OR SIDES?
More than 99 per cent of our shipping container sales are for ‘regular containers’ – or popular variations of them. Most clients need a solid, rigid structure with a roof, fixed walls and one or more doors.
Sometimes, however, cargo is so unusually shaped that it simply won’t fit into a standard shipping container – even if you’re craning it in from above, as you can with one of our open top containers. A common example is when people are transporting large machinery.
Transporting cargo like this can be a problem. You can’t simply drive a consignment like this to the docks and ask for it to be put on a cargo ship.
Almost every cargo vessel in the world will only accept goods that have been loaded into a 20ft or 40ft container that conforms to ISO regulations.
The answer is to buy a flat rack container. A flat rack allows ships to take cargo loaded onto a 20ft or 40ft flat rack container instead.
Flat racks are highly specialised shipping containers that can be hard to find. We have stock up and down the country available for immediate dispatch.
THE LAST WORD IN EASY LOADING
Flat rack shipping containers are probably the easiest containers in the world to load. Ours are easier still because, unlike some models, they have drop-down ends – meaning you can very easily manoeuvre heavy goods and oversized cargo onto them.
If vehicles are being transported, they can often be driven straight onto a flat rack from the back of a truck. The ends can then be raised to keep everything secure.
Flat racks also function as platforms for goods when the ends are down. And just like a conventional container from TITAN, they are rock solid and built to last!
If you want to buy a flat rack container and have questions about which type is best for you, please get in touch.
