TITAN brings sub-zero temps to iconic tower

SkyCity Tower is one of Auckland’s most iconic buildings. While its central location is great for tourists, it presents quite a challenge when you’re asked to deliver three 20ft reefer containers!
The challenge
FSL Construction and Interiors had been tasked by the popular SkyCity Tower entertainment complex in Auckland’s central business district to take care of some remodification work.
To enable SkyCity to function as normal during the fitout project, FSL needed some cool room. Not the easiest thing to pull off when the containers would have to be delivered and parked up in a bustling town centre location!
The solution
Mike Sargent, TITAN’s North Island head of sales in New Zealand, put forward three of our versatile ArcticStore units as the ideal solution for FSL’s cold storage needs.
Next, his colleague, Madi Adams, made a detailed site check to ensure the delivery phase would go smoothly. This step was essential, as a rather compact loading bay had been earmarked for the containers, and Madi had to be sure this would be sufficient.
After feeding back to her team and the client, the project was soon greenlit. Everyone agreed they were good to go… as long as the containers were dispatched in the dead of night.
The delivery
To minimise disruption, Madi organised delivery of FSL’s three cold storage rental containers at 2am, having first sorted out road closure in the immediate vicinity.
Delivery was provided by local Hiab crews from Lion Crane Trucks and Dean Selak Carrying Company, with Madi onsite to ensure everything went according to plan – and snap a few photos at one of Auckland’s most iconic locations.
The results
The containers are in place, the client’s cold storage needs are being met, and the plan is to keep the ArcticStores onsite for around six months. As with many clients, FSL only need their ArcticStores for a specific period. It’s why we offer flexible rental terms that allow clients to rent for as little as a few days if needed.
